About Us

FemaleGamers.co.uk

FemaleGamers.co.uk was originally launched in September 2008 but under the name 'Mandarin Duck's Games for Girls'.  We knew there were many female gamers and wanted to make a site that was full of (hopefully!) useful information but presented in an attractive way, with a particular lack of machoness!   We relaunched in June 2009 under the name 'FemaleGamers.co.uk'.  Well, it makes more sense really doesn't it?  And the web address is (hopefully!) very easy to remember.

As you can probably see from the site, we cover many titles across all genres because we know that there are female gamers all over the world who like RPGs, first-person shooters, puzzles, adventures, strategy, simulation and so on.  We hope that there's something for everyone.

Nonetheless, we were somewhat surprised to find that we gradually began to receive quite a number of male visitors.  It turns out that many people - male or female - like the layout and structure and for that we're very thankful.  However, we like our name and ultimately we still put meeting the needs of our female visitors first so no more name changes are imminent!

Basically, all are welcome, male or female.  We now have three reviewers: David Brown (who is NOT the one from PC Zone before you ask) plus Sarah James and Beverley Kerry.  And there's me, Donna Haw, still ploughing on behind the scenes trying to keep everything ticking over nicely.

We hope that - male or female, young or old - you enjoy the site but we always welcome feedback.  Feel free to provide it by emailing donna@femalegamers.co.uk or catching us on Twitter: femalegamersuk (Donna) or elenchera (David).
